If you live in the Northern part of India, Uttarakhand is the first place you think about for the weekend getaways, and when it’s about Uttarakhand, Dehradun and Mussoorie are the most visited cities. I’ve recently been to Dehradun and Mussorie for my weekend trip and as always it was amazingly beautiful. Actually, it was better than my earlier trips to Uttarakhand because it was monsoon and trust me hills are breathtakingly beautiful in rains.
Pacific Hotel Dehradun
So, this time we stayed at the Pacific Hotel in Dehradun as well as in Mussorie. The Pacific Hotel Dehradun is one of the oldest properties in the city. It is best known for its hospitality and service and is considered as the best place for the corporate stays and events. So as a ritual of Uttarakhand, we were welcomed at the hotel with authentic Buransh. For those who don’t know, it is a juice made from Rhododendron flower which contains natural sweetness. So after the refreshing Buransh, we went for a property tour wherein we checked the entire hotel, including all its banquets, restaurant, bar, lobby, gym, board room, deluxe rooms, suits etc.
The hotel is nice with the basic but good infrastructure. They have quite a lot of banquet halls and in fact, most of them were occupied by some or the other ceremonies while we were at the hotel. It is a Four Star, Government Approved hotel and is located in the heart of Dehradun City just a km from Clock Tower, 2 km from the Railway Station, 6 km from the Bus stand, 20 km from Airport and also very near from Rajpur Road, Ashley Hall, Doon Club, Parade Ground, & Secretariat.
Food in Pacific Hotel Dehradun
We had almost 3 meals at this hotel and their Indian food was amazing. They served us the continental cuisine too which was again good but there was this one item named Mushroom Florentine and this was just out of this world. It was a super cheesy dish made with mushrooms and spinach. If you are planning to stay in this hotel on your next trip to Dehradun, do not forget to try this special recipe.
Pacific Hotel Mussoorie
After a relaxing stay at Pacific Hotel Dehradun, we moved to Mussoorie and not to mention here that the journey was stupendously beautiful. A drive from Dehradun to Mussoorie can technically never go wrong. You get to witness a wonderful scenic view the entire way.
Pacific Hotel Mussorie is a very very nice property and the best part is its location. The hotel is located on the serene “Camel’s back road” and each of its room offers a spectacular view of the Mighty Himalayas. Our stay at this hotel was a perfect retreat to rejuvenate our body and soul.
This hotel has three types of rooms, Delux, Super Delux and the Premium rooms. Tariff to all rooms is obviously different but one thing is common and that is the magnificent view from rooms. The super luxurious rooms with tranquil ambiance will certainly leave you spellbound.
Food at Pacific Hotel Mussoorie
Same as in Dehradun, we were welcomed with traditional Buransh here too and yes we had amazing Indian food here. Our breakfast was served as a buffet but our lunch and dinner were on ala carte and we all loved the Indian food over there.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay with the Pacific Hotels in Dehradun and Mussoorie. So, if you are planning a trip to this part of Uttarakhand and looking for a luxury hotel at the good price range, do try the Pacific Hotels.
